L'Onda - Storie italiane di uomini e chitarre
by Antonio Stragapede, in cooperation with M. Bazzotti
"The music presented in this album, recorded live, represents the passage of the guitar to the threshold of the twentieth century. In the space of a few decades the instrument experienced its second rebirth. In the first decades of the twentieth century, when the great virtuoso guitarists of the previous century had completely disappeared, the guitar could again evolve from a pure accompaniment instrument to the service of singers and mandolinists, to the point of expanding to solo recitals
The time span expands from around 1860 - with the famous aria "Il Bacio" by Luigi Arditi transcribed for two guitars by an amateur of the time - up to the 40s of the twentieth century with a still unpublished study by Luigi Mozzani, the greatest guitarist of the time. [...] "
